Security System Design

System DesignWith the multitude of ever-changing technologies available in the physical security marketplace, it can seem an overwhelming task to choose the right components to choose a fully integrated system design. Despite the “open architecture” concept portrayed by many vendors, many clients face frustrations when they install a system only to learn that certain key components are not compatible with components from another manufacturer.

CRSI’s team of experts regularly attend leading security equipment manufacturers’ invitation-only events to learn about the latest in technology updates. This makes our team well-versed in system capabilities and can save you countless hours by narrowing down the choices to those with proven track records of integrating smoothly. Our approach to security system design follows the application of a layered approach. Also called “concentric circles of protection,” this concept follows an industry-accepted and established approach.

The layered approach includes:

  • An Outer Protective Layer – Natural or manmade barriers at property line
  • A Middle Protective Layer – Exterior building access
  • An Inner Protective Layer – Interior-secured areas

Each layer is designed to delay an attacker at the first point of intervention and provide detection, assessment, and response at the outermost layer. To aid in accomplishing this goal, open space or “stand-off” distance between the layers must be calculated as  part of the equation. CRSI utilizes a complete Integrated Physical Security Design Protocol that focuses on standardized security models, design-based threats, key CPTED principles (natural access control, natural surveillance and territorial enforcement), and an Estimated Adverse Sequence Interruption (EASI) Model based upon the “DDDRRR”criteria (Deter, Detect, Delay, Respond {Assess-Communicate-Response}, Recovery and Re-Evaluation).

CRSI consultants are with you every step of the way from concept, RFP, vendor selection, installation, testing, commissioning, and user training.

CRSI strategically partnered with more than 250 electric utilities in the last five (5) years for their NERC CIP Compliance Solutions. To find out more about how to create your Security Compliance Roadmap, call us today to schedule a free, no obligation consultation.
